USDA NRCS Awards Waterborne Cooperative Agreement to Create Agriculture and Forestry Conservation Web Application in Missouri
LEESBURG, VA – The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has awarded Waterborne Environmental Inc. (Waterborne) to create an agriculture conservation web application that will help provide promotion and support of soil, water, and wildlife conservation programs to Missouri’s farmers, ranchers, and landowners. USDA NRCS’s goal is to increase the adoption of conservation practices by Missouri farmers while emphasizing Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry throughout the state. The 36-month projects launched in September 2023.
As part of this project, Waterborne will develop a state-focused web application providing advanced technologies and precision conservation tools for conservation management planning and practice implementation, native forage establishment and management, and nutrient management.
Waterborne will additionally offer training to provide technical assistance to stakeholders, including the USDA NRCS and its field conservation partners, in the delivery, development, promotion, and support of soil and water conservation programs to Missouri’s farmers, including assistance with climate smart agriculture.
“Waterborne is proud to partner with USDA NRCS to aid Missouri farmers, ranchers, and landowners in Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry,” said Paul Barboza, Waterborne CEO and President. “This project’s easy-to-use, technology-based solution will provide Missouri farmers and ranchers with access to the latest conservation tools while also helping the USDA NRCS target and optimize their conservation efforts.”
According to Barboza, “every Waterborne scientist’s goal is to provide our clients with best solutions that simultaneously solve their needs while improving our environment. This project falls perfectly within our corporate mission.”
